Nobody's name is on this place, and the nearest thing to an owner is a Boss Lady who turns up in the construction photos, which reads as a title she picked for herself. Whoever she is, her shop keeps a Strava club going, Run With Us!, which is a likable thing for a neighborhood coffee bar to put its energy into.

Espresso is a natural and washed blend from 11th Hour Coffee up in Santa Cruz, pulled on a three-group La Marzocco GB/5 S. The shop tells that blend two ways, Brazil, Guatemala and Ethiopia in one place and Mexico, Guatemala and Brazil in another, and has never settled which.

Canabru talks about its room only in terms of what happens in it, studying, quiet time, small groups, friends catching up, and never in terms of what it looks like. The pictures it publishes all point at the counter, latte art, bar prep, a cup of coffee left on a stool, which leaves the look of the place an open question.
