Privacy Policy

Curatedis a small editorial directory. We collect as little about you as possible: an email address only if you choose to give us one, the details you type into a cafe nomination, and aggregate, cookie-light analytics so we know which pages are useful. We do not sell your data, and we don't run advertising or third-party tracking pixels.

• Newsletter email. If you subscribe, we store your email address and the date you signed up so we can send you the newsletter. That's it — no name required.
• Cafe nominations. When you submit a cafe, we keep what you enter — the cafe details and, optionally, your email so a curator can follow up. Nominations are reviewed by a human and never published automatically.
• Usage analytics. We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics (page views and performance metrics) to understand what's working. These do not build an advertising profile of you.
• Server logs. Like any website, our host records standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) transiently for security and reliability.

We use your email only to send you the newsletter you asked for. We use nomination details to evaluate, visit, and possibly list a cafe. We use analytics to improve the site. We never use any of it to advertise to you, and we never sell or rent your information.

Every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove your address at any time. We store newsletter subscriptions as unconfirmed until you opt in, and we don't add you to any other list.

We share data only with the infrastructure providers that run the site — our hosting, database, and analytics vendors — and only so they can provide those services. We require them to handle data responsibly. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

We keep cookies to a minimum. We don't use advertising or cross-site-tracking cookies. Any cookies we do set are functional or used for aggregate, privacy-respecting analytics.

We keep your newsletter email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep nominations for as long as they're useful to maintaining and improving the directory. You can request deletion at any time.

You can ask us what we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it. Just email us and we'll take care of it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honor those requests.

Curated is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy as the site evolves. When we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
