Dripp

Whoever built the Fox Fullerton Theater gave this corner its trusses and arched windows, and Dripp's chief virtue is that it didn't paper over any of it. The coffee is Espresso Republic, the roastery Rabih Sater started a year before the first Dripp, but the origin language stays general — no farms, no varietals — which leaves a very good room doing most of the persuading.

The coffee comes from Espresso Republic, the roastery founder Rabih Sater started in 2010, a year before the first Dripp opened — the Fullerton menu carries a real manual-brew program alongside the espresso list, with roughly nine bagged coffees at $16 to $19. Origin language stays general: the FAQ speaks about how coffees are sourced without naming farms, varietals or altitudes on individual bags.

The room sits inside the Fox Fullerton Theater building, and the architecture does most of the work — exposed heavy timber roof trusses, arched multi-pane windows, a lighting scheme that reads as chosen rather than defaulted to. No designer or studio is credited for the buildout, so what Dripp has here is a careful tenancy in a good building rather than an authored room, and still the best-looking coffee counter for some distance on a downtown Fullerton block.
