Laidrey Coffee Roasters
Built around a kitchen-island bar, with an outlet at nearly every seat.
Curator’s note
The bar here is built like a kitchen island — Tachejian's idea, so that sitting at the counter means talking to whoever is working rather than watching their back. The coffee is the flagship's: eight exclusively traceable single origins roasted in Tarzana, the Costa Rica naming Finca La Guaca and producer Café Rivense at 1,600 masl.
The coffee
The bean lineup is brand-wide — eight single-origins at $22, sourced through Sustainable Harvest and Covoya with a stated emphasis on women-led farms. The Costa Rica bag names Finca La Guaca, producer Café Rivense in the Chirripó micro-region, Caturra and Catuai, natural process, 1,600 masl, though no bag ever carries a roast date.
Tachejian built the bar like a kitchen island so guests can sit at the counter and talk to whoever is working — 2,000 square feet, 30 seats, an outlet at nearly every one. Framed burlap coffee bags hang under gold-and-black pendant lights keyed to the matte black and gold trim of the company's Probat P5, which is a degree of color-matching most cafes never think to attempt.
