Curator’s note

The pour-over list here is written origin by origin, and the origins go further than most: a Pink Bourbon off Finca Juan Martín in Cauca, a honey-processed Pacamara off Efraín Solís's rows in Chalatenango. Roasting happens at the company's Alhambra facility, and the roast date posts per batch on Instagram instead of printing on the bag — a modern answer to an old complaint.

The coffee

Anaheim's shelf stocks four single origins at $20 to $23.50 — Peru El Cedro, Ethiopia Idido, Colombia Finca Juan Martín, El Salvador El Amaton — with the Colombia a washed Pink Bourbon from Cauca and the El Salvador a honey-processed Pacamara grown by Efraín Solís in Chalatenango. The pour-over list runs the same way, origin by origin, though roast dates aren't printed on product pages and instead post per batch on Instagram.

The brand calls this one simply Coffee Bar: a standalone building on East Katella in the Platinum Triangle, modern and minimal inside, with seating indoors and out and a retail counter carrying Hario, Fellow and Kinto. Naming a room Coffee Bar and then building it exactly that literally is its own kind of honesty.
