ōmakē

The owner walked into this Ventura Boulevard storefront in February 2025, an atelier for the 45 years before, and set out to carry forward its discipline of doing one thing exceptionally well. The name means extra, the considered kind.

One wall is stacked bands of wood that swell and recede, with warm light tucked into some of the seams. Low walnut built-ins curve along the floor beneath it, and a tapered column in textured plaster stands against walnut paneling.
