Jetty Coffee Roasters
Named for a surf break, roasting every bag it sells on site
Curator’s note
Brien Baltzell roasts every coffee Jetty sells inside the same S Hill St building that pours it, which is rarer in this city than it sounds. The bean detail stops short of where it could go: the Kochere page gets as far as varietal and process, then names no producer and prints no roast date.
The coffee
All seven coffees are roasted in-house at S Hill St, and the deepest page on the site is Kochere, an Ethiopian Yirgacheffe listed as heirloom varietal and fully washed, with notes of green apple, honey and lemon.
Urban Lifestyle Group did the buildout here — interior design, architecture and kitchen, all of it — for a S Hill Street address that holds the roasting facility at the back and the coffee bar out front. Even the name came from a design firm, Ludlow Kingsley, who took it off Brien Baltzell's other habit, surfing.
