Rikka Fika
Curator’s note
Rikka Fika wants to be an oasis where anyone can easily enjoy a seriously good coffee experience, and easily is the ambitious word in that sentence: making good coffee approachable is harder than making it good. The retail bag carries the same intention, a wabi-sabi design that won San Diego's 2026 Specialty Coffee Association design award, which is real thought spent on the one piece of a cafe that goes home with people.
The coffee
Nothing is roasted here, so the bar buys: Coffee Collective out of Copenhagen and Moim out of Los Angeles on the shelf, Bean Barn and Raw Sugar Roast across the cupping table. The pour-over and bean menu rotates against a published brew guide and runs light, with fruit and florals, while the beans are named at country level only: Bolivia, Guatemala, Colombia, Peru, and a house blend called Wildflowers.
The room
The room is communal and given over to gentle sunlight, a plainer idea than most new cafes are willing to build on. Doors run eight to three, Tuesday through Sunday, so nothing in this room happens after dark.
