Seven Seas Roasting
Curator’s note
Craft is the founder's own word for the work, and the Colombia from Gustavo Ferney Osorio Guarin is where the word gets specific: the producer's name on the bag, a honey process beside it, and a line saying every bag sold supports shade-grown replanting for 140 producer families across Tolima and Caldas. Plenty of roasters say they support farmers; far fewer print the number of families.
The coffee
Devin Fralin is the roaster here, and the board prints the pour-over as single origin at $8.50 with plain drip standing beside it at $1.15. The Finca La Esperanza bag runs light, a Striped Bourbon tasting of blackberry, toasted cashew and warm spices at $26.45 for twelve ounces, listed with its variety, its process and its altitude and never a roast date.
The room
A distressed ship emblem sits above the white storefront, lit by a row of bulbs, with warm light behind the glass front. Inside, the house bags line a wood shelf beside a run of colorful wall art, the same crest carried from the sign onto the packaging, which is where this brand does most of its decorating.
