Lofty Coffee Roasting Works
Curator’s note
The Colombia on the shelf comes from Alexander Vargas and his son Arley at La Piragua in Huila, a Pink Bourbon lot off a family farm that has reached the Cup of Excellence finals four times. A brunch address does not have to name the farmers on its bag, and this one names them down to the son.
The coffee
All of it is roasted at this address, off a menu that keeps a manual brew filter category and a seasonal single origin espresso beside the house blend. That blend, Keeping It Classy, is a washed Costa Rica and Guatemala read for dark chocolate and a caramel finish.
The room
Lofty calls this its flagship and describes the room as calm and purposeful, with open work-friendly seating, reliable wifi and space to settle in between plans. Nobody is credited with designing it, which is an odd omission from a brand otherwise happy to explain its own process.
